Be it theatre, a web series like Bang Baaja Baaraat or films like Fukrey , Ali Fazal explores the nuances of acting through every opportunity that comes his way.

Talking about his role in Furious 7 which aired on Sony Pix last weekend, Ali says “I couldn’t have asked for more. Working with actors such as Vin Diesel, Kurt Russell, Paul Walker and having gotten to know them has been great. Even though I was playing a cameo, the cast took care of me and made me feel comfortable. The best part of the franchise the family vibe that each movie has instilled among its members.”

Ali adds that the fondest memory during his stint was “Going through the wardrobe to pick an outfit. They have an entire warehouse and assembly line of costumes, starting from the first till the sixth movie. I was given the liberty to pick any outfit that I wanted.”

His journey as an actor began in school. He says, “I was interested in sports and in my final year, I broke my arm and ended up trying out for a school play because I wanted to be part of some activity. I realised that I enjoyed acting.” He adds “Since I am fortunate enough to do what I love, I want to make the most out of it and work with directors such as Imtiaz Ali, Anurag Kashyap, Anurag Basu and Raju Hirani again.”

Talking about a memorable experience, Ali says, “I remember going all out, dancing and just being crazy on the sets for the title song of Fukrey . I had lost a friend of mine and was not in a good place. Everyone took care of me and just let me be. That was pretty special to me.”

On a takeaway for his audience from his movies, Ali says, “I want them to take away a part of me because I am constantly playing parts of them in whatever I do.” To aspiring actors, he says – “Do not waste your money on courses, pick up the text and follow your punctuation. If you do that properly, half the battle is won.”
