Hari Teja has done innumerable movies but A..Aa she says will definitely make people sit up and take notice. “ Gurthimpu tappakunda vostundi. Kacchitanga audiences ki nacchutundi ,” she states with an air of confidence. The simple and affable actor from Tirupati plays the domestic help who accosts Samantha like a chaperone. It is a funny, supporting role that is seen throughout the film and the rapport both the women share on the screen is endearing. Though she is a maid, her attitude, dialogues and body language make her unique.

Hasn’t she worked in all the good films, big banners though her role has been inconsequential? “Sometimes there is no point in doing big roles in big films and sometimes it helps doing small roles in small films. It is all about luck. My roles in Dikkulu Chudaku Ramaiyya and Andari Bandhuvaiyya were good but failed to register in the minds of the audience . Choosi vodilesaaru, ekkaledu vaalaki ,” she observes.

Stint in television With an innate charm, she shows a lot of ease in her work that includes 15 television serials like Manusu Mamatha, Tali Kattu Shubavela, Abhishekam, Rakta Sambandam, Sivaranjani etc. The actor is not even remotely connected to films and had never made a serious attempt to get into movies. Talking about misconceptions she had about the film industry, she says, “I thought after seeing me on the small tube, people wouldn’t offer me films. I generally felt that they might not understand our style of acting and working hours, so I never tried for a career in films with sincerity. Vosthe chesanu, rakapothe calm ga undipoyanu I was doing two or three serials simultaneously and I had no time for anything else. Now that I am done with it I want to concentrate on cinema. However, I enjoyed my stint in television and I am having fun doing films.”

She adds, “I never tried or worked towards being a heroine. Director Trivikram Srinivas called me for a small role in Attarintiki Daredhi . It was a tiny role but I was keen on working with him and did it for two days. When he complimented me, that meant a lot to me. I was thrilled but never thought he would call me again for a role. I auditioned for A.. Aa and he was confident I would do it well. Usually comedians travel with the hero throughout the film, but Trivikram tried a supporting role for the heroine and it clicked. Six months with the film just flew by and I enjoyed my time with the crew.”
