Toni&Guy, one of the world's premiere hairdressers, have chosen Chennai to begin their third outlet in India, after Mumbai. Housed in the new Express Avenue Mall, the local franchisee is owned by Sam Paul and Babitha, who wanted to bring to the city its first international hairdressing brand.
Founded in London in 1963 by brothers Guy and Toni Mascolo, the salon today has more than 400 outlets around the world.
And that's not all — they also run 27 academies that train young people from the world over to become professional hairdressers.
Awards aren't new to the brand, having won the accolade of London Hairdresser of the Year eleven times; besides being crowned as the South West Hairdresser of the Year in 2006, and winning several other regional contests in the U.K.
A team of hairdressers trained at the Toni&Guy Academy showcased their talent on the day of the launch.
Showing you how!
The show was a live demonstration with four models in which three of the stylists took part, so that prospective customers could understand what would be in store for them.
The store was opened by Kavita Singhania, managing director, Express Avenue. Toni&Guy's master franchise for India, Parag Thakkar was also present.
