A smart tool for builders

Handibot is portable, precise and flexible, thus making it most suitable for large scale applications

We have seen many industries use CNC machines to control a number of their processes. A Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine is an automated machine that makes industrial parts without the need of a direct assistance from human beings. They have coded instructions that are sent to an internal computer. These instructions help the machine to create various components quickly and with precision.

Usually, CNC mills are created to be kept in shops, and power tools are the ones you can carry around, and that has been the norm. But ShopBot Tools, with an experience spanning a good 17 years dedicated to producing and refining CNC machines, is breaking the norm with its latest portable Handibot.

The Handibot, a CNC mill with three axes, can be run with an app that works on a smartphone, a tablet, or a desktop. You need to model whatever you want to build (or cut or drill or carve) into the app. Once you have successfully done that, instead of bringing the material to the machine, you take the machine to the material! You can use it on wood, plastic, aluminum, or whatever material you want to use. This definitely gives you a lot of flexibility. It can work on just about any surface – the floor, a table, the ceiling – you name it. It just waits for you to press Start. Its portability does not take away from its precision. In fact, it is just as precise as any of its bigger, and bulkier, brothers.

This machine can be extremely beneficial for builders. They just have to carry a Handibot to their place of work, and it will cut whatever they want it to all day long. As a builder, you can place a Handibot on a wall rig, and program it perfectly to cut outlet holes in a vertical sheetrock. Of course, it is quite easy to cut one outlet hole without it, but a commercial building requires many of these holes, and you could make Handibot your best friend for the job.

The company wants to expand its user base by reaching out to consumers. They want to create a community where people will share designs for other users to access.

Companies always know to what use their products will be put. For example, if a company makes tennis balls, they know that people will use it to play tennis, cricket, a game of catch, or various indigenous games. But, the makers of Handibot are waiting for the users to surprise them with applications that they themselves had not expected and foreseen.

Apart from wood, plastic, and aluminum, you can use the Handibot to etch on glass! If you are keen on buying one yourself, and test your creativity, you just have to >order one from their store .
