It's raining original serials on Kannada TVs channels. In keeping with the season's flavour of channels banking on original ideas and scripts for TV serials, here's another summer starter.

Starting May 2 Udaya TV launches a new serial -- Meenakshi Maduve. It's being touted as the first Kannada serial that has been shot in Leh, Shimla, Kulu Manali and Ladakh even! The story revolves around the bold girl Meenakshi who always speaks her mind. And of course, the saga of getting her married.

The serial is produced and directed by Preetham Shetty and stars Apoorva, Harsham and Shashidhar Kote.

One person to watch out for will be Sudhakara who plays the role of Rifle Rudregowda in the serial -- the girl's father. And so you can imagine the predominant sight of rifles in this serial!
