If music is the food of love, what better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than with a romantic song. Singer, composer and percussionist Charu Hariharan is making this Valentine’s Day special for her with her first single, a Tamil song, ‘Moodi thuranthidum’. The music video of the song will be released on V-Day on YouTube and Facebook.

“Although I have composed for a short film Jo.We.Lo and the Malayalam film Infiniti , this is my first composition that is getting released and I am very excited about it,” says Charu, daughter of musician B. Arundhati. Charu had composed the song two years ago. “Stephen chettan (musician Stephen Devassy) happened to hear it and it was he who insisted that I should release it. It is finally happening through Kreative Kkonnect, an online platform for music promotion run by Stephen.”

The melody is about a couple who had an arranged marriage discovering their love story during their honeymoon. The song is sung by Charu’s younger brother Sreekanth Hariharan. The video has been shot by Anju Mohandas and filmed by Chidambaram. Celluloid -fame and reality show star Chandni and theatre actor Aravind act in the video.

Making her debut

Someone else who is on cloud nine is the lyricist of the song, Rajeswari S. Kumar. Rajeswari, who is a poet and short story writer, is overwhelmed that finally her work has got a platform. A science graduate, she now runs a provision-cum-grocery store near Vazhappilly junction in the city with her husband and is also a temporary employee with Hindustan Latex Ltd. “I have written a lot of poems, mostly in Tamil. It was my husband who encouraged me to write lyrics, and now I have over 30 of them with me. I gave one of them to Charu but never thought that it would see the light of the day,” says the 37-year-old.
