The sixth and final Bugatti Veyron to carry the “Legend” badge is in honour of the company founder himself, Ettore Bugatti.
Like the five that went before it, the model is limited to just three cars and is based on the 16.4 Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, the world’s fastest production roadster.
The car comes with the standard 8-litre W16 engine which packs a punch of 1,200 horsepower. The urge is enough for a 0-62mph time of 2.6 seconds and a top speed of 408 km/h, the Volkswagen-owned makers announced in Molsheim, France.
Bugatti said the design was inspired by the Type 41 of 1932, with the bonnet, wings and doors finished in clear-coated aluminium. Dark-blue exposed carbon has been chosen for the rear part of the car. Ettore’s own signature is engraved into the tank and oil cap.
Exquisite interior features include natural brown calf’s leather alongside natural cordovan leather. The Bugatti Veyron Legend sells for 2.8 million euros (3.75 million dollars).
Volkswagen Group design chief Walter de Silva has indicated that a new Bugatti model to replace the Veyron will break cover in 2016.
