Mercedes-Benz India on Tuesday launched its 'compact performance sedan' CLA 45 AMG at the Buddh Internatinal Circuit (BIC). The 2.0 litre, twin turbo engine is expected to churn out a massive 360 PS of power at 6000 RPM and a peak tourque of 450 Nm @2250-5000RPM. The company also claims a top speed of 250 km/hr and a 0-100 km/hr acceleration in 4.6 seconds.
The potent 2.0 litre mill is one of the most powerful production 4-cylinder engines. It is mated to a DCT 7-speed transmission system and the car is equipped with an all-wheel drive system.
The CLA 45 AMG comes with nine airbags, a three-stage ESP with Curve Dynamic Assist, iPhone-supported multimedia system, among others.
The car is based on the company's compact sedan CLA-Class which is expected to hit the Indian market in 2015.
Speaking to The Hindu Business Line, Eberhard Kern, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mercedes-Benz India, said:“With such performance and features, we are targeting young customers and the young at heart.” He also added that the company will launch its compact sedan CLS in less than 6 months.
