Nearly 50, Irina Walker, a consultant from San Francisco, shows no signs of slowing down. Though she has been on the racing circuit for over a decade, Irina is in India for the first time to participate in the Royal Enfield Himalayan Odyssey. The rally, which is into its eighth edition, was flagged off in New Delhi this weekend and will cover a distance of 2,560 km.
“I wanted to see the Himalayas and then got to know about the Royal Enfield Himalayan Odyssey, I jumped on to the opportunity. I could not have managed to find a better vacation in this beautiful country,” says Irina, who has done some solo rallies and also a world tour on her BMW bike covering a distance of nearly 6,000 km. For this trip to Khardung La, Irina had been training herself physically. “I was doing push-ups and running for nearly five km a day as I knew this one is not going to be an easy trip.” Irina borrowed a Royal Enfield bike from a friend for the rally. “It's a new experience for me and I hope to be among the best at the end,” signs off the adventurous woman.
