The car will come with two engine options.

Ford India plans to unveil its all-new small car (code B517) soon, with the president and CEO of Ford Motor Company, Alan Mulally coming to India to show the new car.

This new model is critical to the future success and growth of Ford in India, and is expected to be very spacious.

Ford has worked to significantly localise the car before launch and is planning to price it very aggressively.

The new model goes on sale in March 2010 and will face competition from other new small cars such as the Volkswagen Polo, Nissan Micra and the New Chevrolet Beat (code M300). Engine options for the Ford small car include a 1.2-litre petrol engine and the 1.4-litre diesel engine, which also powers the Ikon and Fiesta models.

These engines would also allow it to meet the government's small car excise norms.
