Mahindra & Mahindra have added a new CNG variant to the Logan's range. For now, it will be available only in Mumbai and Delhi. The kits will be fitted in the 1.4 GLE and GLX trim levels.

The Logan 1.4 GLE CNG variant will cost Rs. 6.04lakh, going up to Rs. 6.33lakh for the GLX CNG variant — making it Rs. 56,000 dearer than the petrol variants (prices on-road Mumbai). However, M&M claims the running cost would come down from Rs. 1.62 - 2.26 per km, as against Rs. 3.93 - 6.11 per km on petrol.

The company fitted CNG kits, manufactured by Landi Renzo Spa, will be supplied and fitted by Logicon. Landi Renzo also provides CNG kits to other car manufacturers such as Tata Motors, Maruti, Mahindra & Mahindra and Renault Worldwide.

The 12kg cylinder CNG kit will come with a manufacturer warranty that will last for two-years or 50,000km. The CNG variant will help the company boost the sluggish saloon's sales.

Commenting on the launch, Arun Malhotra, senior vice-president, Automotive Sector, M&M, said “With issues such as climate change and carbon footprint taking centre stage globally, eco-friendly transportation has become the need of the hour and hence the launch of a company approved CNG kit.”
