Can vegetable colours, organic ingredients, and vegan toppings create a sprightly birthday cake? Terra Earthfood has done just that. The Harry Potter-themed cake, complete with Gryffindor house scarf and the lightning bolt scar, has been baked using organic brown rice, organic rice milk, and fresh apple juice, according to Meera Maran, the founder of Terra.
“The toppings were made using organic unsweetened coco, palm sugar, turmeric, and beetroot,” she explains. “Organic cashew nut cream has been used to stick the toppings on to the base,” she adds.
The cake, with a cream-coloured topping and deep-red scarf with yellow borders, is vegan and gluten-free.
Says Meera, “Normally, vegan cakes tend to be a little plain. But we managed to create a Gryffindor-themed suggestion of Harry Potter rather than an entire montage using our limited colour palette.” She adds that the credit goes to the customer for encouraging them to attempt such a cake.
Terra also baked little cupcakes with brown lightning bolt scars and tiny scarves to go with the cake.
