Good music and food go hand in hand. It’s a combination I am always on the lookout for. Rock A Fella at 35, Defence Colony is home to this robust combination. Segregated into two levels, one is dedicated to soulful rock music and the other to food.

Rock A Fella serves world cuisines and has an extensive list of options. The elaborate menu features Mexican, Oriental, Italian, Continental and Indian delicacies. However, I started my journey with New England chowder soup.

Rich in cream and thick due to the use of a potato base, it boasted a perfect smooth texture.

Amongst its interesting salads, Hawaiian or the oriental larb kai will leave you wanting for more. In salata marinara, you find a perfect salad comprising sea food and three types of bell peppers tossed with spicy creamy mayo. Worth a try. But the real highlight of the menu is its starters. Buffalo wings, basically chicken wings made in oriental style, were spicy and finger licking. Phili grilled lamb steak made in Philadelphia style was grilled and cut into chunks was juicy and tender to its core. Shredded crispy lamb did justice to its name. Layer of corn made it crispy.

The good part was that the shredded lamb was juicy and not at all dry. Murgh nahtori chandi ke tikke from the Indian grill section was a delight to have. One of the most delectable dishes on offer at the restaurant. Presented equally beautifully, it came covered with the silver warq. Chicken tikka was creamy and soft which just melted in the mouth. I also tried the vegetarian pepper cheese corn roll and mushroom ki galaouti on chef’s recommendation and both were amazing.

In its main course, the restaurant also offers some nice Mexican and continental options but I sticking to the North Indian cuisine, tried out murgh musallam, chicken legs stuffed with minced chicken. It had nice gravy of butter chicken and went well with the lachcha parantha. Surprisingly the tastiest dish in the main course was dal makhni. Cooked on low flame it had smooth creamy texture.

In the dessert section, gooie cake was the only thing available. Hot and moist, it was a true chocolate delight.
