Grilled butterfly prawns

Prawns (or Shrimps) are delicious when grilled. Try this quick and easy recipe, butterfly prawns.

Ingredients

Shrimps—500 gm

Cumin seeds—1 tsp

Garlic paste—1 tbsp

Salt—to taste

Turmeric powder—half tsp

Chilly powder (Kashmir)—2 tbsp

Lemon juice—2 tbsp

Olive oil—2 tbsp

Method

First of all, pull off the heads of the prawns with your finger. Devein them. Wash thoroughly. Cut through the ridges on the back of the prawn shell. Turn the prawns over and cut a straight line to the centre of the shell. Take a sharp knife and cut a horizontal slit on each side where the tail meets the body.

Score the line on the prawn's shell again and flatten gently with hand. Marinate the prawns with dry roasted and powdered cumin seeds, garlic paste, chilly powder, turmeric powder, salt and lemon juice and keep for 30 minutes.

When the grilling pan is red hot, place the marinated prawns in the grill and after 2 minutes, turn it. Within 4 minutes, your butterfly prawns are ready to be eaten.
