Avaneesh M. juggles several hats with ease. He is a doctor, a writer, loves painting and enjoys cooking.

The 26-year-old, who recently walked away with the top honours in Kitchen Magic , a cookery reality show on Kairali TV, has opened an online cake shop. ‘The Cakeholic’, launched on December 12 is a place where you can place an order for cakes with a click of a button.

“All our cakes are custom made. When you place an order, you can suggest how the cake should be made and we chip in with our suggestions. We make any cake which is humanly possible, for whatever be the occasion,” says Dr. Avaneesh, who runs a clinic in the city.

Avaneesh learnt baking and whipping up interesting delicacies from a British pastry chef while studying medicine in the United Kingdom.

“I always wanted to open a restaurant specialising in egg-based delicacies; I have even finalised upon a name. I think I will have to wait for a year or so for it to materialise though. In the meantime, I thought I’d run this online portal,” he says.

Avaneesh has a few of his friends helping him out with the baking and other related work for ‘The Cakeholic’. “I personally take care of the icing,” he says.

Avaneesh also works as a consultant creative writer for Toonz Animation. “When I saw an ad placed by Toonz inviting creative writers, I applied and to my surprise got selected. I have always enjoyed writing and have won a few prizes for it. Now that I’m freelancing, I can balance my medical practice and my passion,” he says.

‘The Cakeholic’ starts delivery from Sunday (December 15). Contact: 9567059200 or >thecakeholic@gmail.com
