Drifting into a land of whimsical visual illusion and high spirits, Smokey’s BBQ & Grill at GK-2 was witness to Primo Supper Club’s showcase of ‘theatrical cocktail session’ - an interactive cocktail session where the head mixologist at Smokey’s demonstrated nine unique cocktail making recipes to the guests of Primo Supper Club.

The Primo Supper Club, launched by husband-wife duo Prashant and Ayesha Kalra, is a debut effort for the niche expat community in Delhi/NCR, which will not only take F&B experience for expats to a whole new level, but also touch upon other lifestyle segments like wellness, fashion and decor. The club is a fun way for the community to explore new venues and meet new people in a safe and hassle free environment.

The guests seemed mesmerised with the cocktail sessions where cocktails like the royale – a molecular creation made with champagne, crème de cassis ravioli and prosecco; Burst 52 – baileys, kahlua spheres in cointreau; tender as a coconut - fresh coconut water, elder flower and vodka and wasabi martini made with fresh mandarin, rosemary, wasabi and vodka; were high on flavour and aroma apart from being a visual delight.

Of them, lock stock and a smoking barrel, which comprised smoked pineapples, vodka and woody smoke that contrasted sharply in the mouth, emerged as a sure winner. While cocktails were a complexity of ingredients, the food was kept simple and to-the point, skipping all the fancy stuff. Sliders, hot dogs, pizzas and burgers were grilled to perfection offering just what one needed with the intricate drinks on offer.

The cocktail showcase is perhaps the first event hosted by Prashant and Ayesha Kalra under their Primo Supper Club’s banner. “My wife Ayesha and I quit our corporate lives to embark on a culinary journey that will surely change the way people perceive hospitality in the city,” said Prashant , dressed in a casual brown jacket and jeans. All in all, the cocktail showcase was surely impressive and intoxicating.
