As they say, ‘If music is a place, then Rock is the road.’ Rock music has gained prominence in Delhi in the recent years. The Capital often hosts live performances by Rock legends. And to take the craze forward is a restaurant, 100% Rock, located on the third floor of Ambience Mall, Vasant Kunj. It is dedicated to hardcore Rock music lovers.

100% Rock is quite spacious with pictures of great musicians on the walls. Wooden furniture and dark lights create a perfect settingfor a nice evening with loud music played by the deejay. If you find it difficult to communicate there is an option of escaping to the terrace.

Menu is extensive and mainly consists of Oriental and Continental cuisines. I started with a chicken tom yum soup. It was presented well and filled a large bowl. It was close to a perfect Thai soup but a bit overdone by galangal. Shredded papaya som tam salad with traditional Thai chilli vinegar dressing was fresh and tasty.

100% Rock offers a good variation in starters. As I love to eat red meat, I ordered a delicacy, crispy konji lamb, and I was satisfied.

Shredded and twisted lamb strips were crisp and spicy. Grilled chicken suvlaki was a bit bland and quite flavourless. But it was the Hienanese prawns in a fiery hot sauce which encouraged me to praise the chef and finish the very last prawn. It was damn good. Prawns were succulent to their core and seasoned to perfection.

Volcano of chicken nachos was amongst the most likeable preparations as it was easy to munch on and went well with the drinks. The cheese topping made them taste even better.

I took chicken kung pao and shredded lamb in hot garlic sauce along with a bowl of steamed rice as my main course. Kung pao had juicy chunks of chicken and a nice texture which went well with the rice. Lamb was too spicy and hot to handle. After the spicy main course I signed off with a glass of hot chocolate fudge.
