Ever had that craving for chocolate-covered waffles and delicious pancakes in the middle of the day? Or longed for toast and scrambled eggs in the evening? Make your way to The Hole In The Wall Café. Nestled in the heart of Koramangala is this comfy all-day breakfast joint which serves up some of the most delicious English breakfast goodies in the city.

Run by city-based band Galeej Gurus frontman Nathan Harris, the quaint hangout was conceptualised and designed by his wife Lynn, who always dreamt about starting her own place as a little girl.

Surrounded by aesthetic paintings, wall hangings and knickknacks, the ambience is cosy and intimate with mellow music wafting in from the overhead speakers. Pictures of Jimi Hendrix, Rajini and even works of art by amateur artistes can be found adoring the walls. With options to sit al fresco beside plants or sit inside, the home-turned-joint is a hub for people to chill out or grab a bite on their way to work.

You won’t be surprised to see folks walking in wearing pyjamas or a bunch of musicians jamming in a corner or even a bunch reading a novel from the pretty bamboo wall book shelves - making this a real comfy hole in the wall. Ultimately everything is about the food so you can choose from an array of waffles, eggs, omelettes, sausages, salami, cakes, muffins, bakes, breakfast sliders, pastries and pies in the menu.

A favourite here is the all English breakfast – a delicious spread of sausages, bacon, fried eggs, baked beans and sautéed mushrooms. Then there are the complete meaty and veggie omelettes to choose from.

For the droopy eyed, the hangover remedy is a must try with spicy fried eggs. The hole nine yards hash makes for the proper American breakfast with diced hash browns, ham, chicken salami and sausage topped with mushrooms and fried eggs.

Also try the chip of the old cluck which gives you an English breakfast vibe with two eggs cooked on a bed of potato chips smothered with cheese.

The veggies always go for the sub-in-your-tub sandwich while the meat lovers find the meaty double beef cheese burger the perfect hunger cruncher. The adventurous can also work their way through the B.E.L.T 1, short for bacon, eggs, lettuce and tomato in a sandwich, or the roast beef hoagie, a 1930s roast beef submarine sandwich smothered with cheese, onion and green peppers.

The American Café cuisine can never be complete without waffles and pancakes. The chocolate sauce and chip-topped with caramelised bananas is sinfully delicious while the peanut butter and pancakes make for the ultimate breakfast experience. Also on the cards is some fantastically cooked classic French toast and eggs, a sure winner in the joint. Don’t forget to top this all with some coffee or hot cocoa, both specialties here. Another favourite is the strong iced tea, a surprisingly refreshing drink for the day.

Make sure you try out the yummy cakes and absolutely gorgeous chocolate cupcakes if you got room in the tummy. Open from Tuesdays to Fridays from 9 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. and 5.30 to 8:30 p.m. and on Weekends from 8 a.m. to 2.30 p.m., The Hole In The Wall Café also invites artistes and musicians to share their work at the joint.
