If you didn't say 'Happy Valentines Day' with red roses, chocolates or cards, never mind. Woo your loved ones with hot sizzling food instead.

Extending the V-day mood over the weekend, the Meridian Restaurant at Hotel Ramyas has a spread that guarantees to spice up your date with not just significant others but also with family and friends.

On entering the restaurant be prepared to be entranced by the slow ethnic music in the background with typical Valentine ’s Day motifs of red hearts, roses and candlelights.

“Breaking the general myth that valentine’s day is just for couples, we wanted the sizzler festival to be one that can be celebrated with families and friends too,” says Nithya Kumar, director of the hotel. With the theme 'Siz-Siz Sizzler', the handpicked menu by the chef is mounted on wooden platters. As salivating as it looks, be careful before you dig in-true to its name the food is hot and steamy!

There are 30 special sizzlers to choose from including executive chef Dorairaj's recommendation, the Seafood Mixed Grill-sea food served with potato wedges and a blend of brown and white sauces that leave a tangy taste. The non vegetarian choices include chicken, lamb, prawns and a galore of sea food varieties. Though the vegetarian choices are limited, they are equally savoury. An added bonus is the food is as healthy as it can get with a choice set of veggies like broccoli, Brussel sprouts, baby corn, mushroom and carrots, coated in white sauce. This could be a godsend for parents who want their children to eat vegetables without being fussy.

After a full blown meal, the dessert menu is bound to leave you perplexed with choices. The “Red Eyes,Brown Lips” is an assorted frozen dessert of blackcurrant and strawberry ice cream topped with fruit fritters and a brownie. “This is a special Valentine’s Day dessert and the combination makes it delectable,” says the chef. The price is mid-range. The sizzler festival is on till February 17. If you’re looking to spend some quality time with family, friends or a loved one, grab a sizzler plate and top it off with some love.
