In National Capital Region, Gurgaon has the maximum number of five star hotels and in recent times these have had some very interesting food festivals. I have, in particular, been always impressed by the Sunday brunches at Courtyard by Marriott’s MoMo Café, where the spread is lavish with never ending options.

On this occasion I went to MoMo café as their new menu is being launched where they have incorporated some Oriental as well as other world cuisines with special emphasis on Indian. Under the aegis of Chef Amit Dash the new menu had some really interesting offerings.

I started with a nice cous cous and coriander chicken soup and loved every bit of it. Cous cous really added to the texture to the refreshing soup. It was followed with salad, mixed sprouts drizzled with olive oil a must have summer salad. Even their traditional salad nicoise with tuna and boiled eggs was good to fill in the deficiency of proteins.

Done with salads it was time to taste some starters. Out of the many, murgh banno kabab seemed to be the most interesting with chicken tikkas wrapped in a froth of egg whites. I loved the presentation of the kabab as it lets you guessing about what would be inside and how it would have been cooked? After eating I found it flat and under seasoned but surely it’s a must have delicacy by Chef Amit Dash.

Tale gosht had a smooth masala just lingering on the gosht boti which I loved. For people who want to have pizzas, pastas, wraps and burgers, new menu has a lot to offer.

A special mention must be made about their fried chicken burger which I assert every Delhiite could very easily relate with. I decided to end with an Indian main course which had home style cooked murgh ka jhol, the famous lal maans from Rajasthan and the delicate biryani from the land of Nizams. The murgh jhol dominated by the coriander taste was subtle and not very heavy which when paired with steamed rice seemed to be the most comforting dish.

The lal maans had major scope of improvement as the chillies used were not the authentic mathania mirchi due to which it lacked the sharp flavour and kick of a lal maans.

Surprisingly their biryani was excellent and cooked to perfection. In all it was an impressive new menu and worth a try.
