Omapodi is a savoury made from Bengal gram flour. It is made in intertwined layers which are then broken and served.

What you need:

Gram flour – 300 gm

Rice flour – 100 gm

Ghee - 1 tsp

Carom seed powder (Omam powder) - 1 tsp

Maida - 1 tsp

Salt - to taste

Oil – 1/2 litre

Cooking instructions

Mix the ingredients in a vessel. Add water to make it semi-solid. Heat oil in a kadai and squeeze the omapodi mixture using a omapodi mould. The maida is used to make omapodi crisp. The snack can be served with curd.
