Get a taste of tradition and childhood memories with this sweet

I learnt this recipe from my grandmother on a recent visit to the city. If you grew up in Tamil Nadu kamarkat would have part of your carefree childhood days.

What you need

Coconut - 2

Jaggery - 250 gm

Ghee - 3 tsp

Cooking instructions

Grate the coconuts and keep aside. Place a kadai on the stove and add 200 ml of water. Now add jaggery to it and allow it to melt. Stir continuously till it acquires a thick string consistency stage. Now add the grated coconut and keep mixing until the mixture turns solid. After a few minutes apply a little of ghee on your palms and make small balls from the mixture. The traditional kamarkat is ready to eat.
