One of the best meals, TV show host, restaurant consultant and author, Sanjeev Kapoor has had was in Hyderabad. Sanjeev Kapoor and Harsha, the director of Popular Prakashan, the publishing house that brings out Sanjeev’s cookbooks, reminisced o ver the meal at the launch of Sanjeev’s latest book.
It was at a restaurant at the ITC Kakatiya, few years ago. The food was so tasty and the master chef regaled them with stories about each of the dishes, that before they knew it, they had consumed 17 dishes and spent a couple of hours there in the process. After the meal, Sanjeev and Harsha went back to their hotel room and proceeded to analyse and rate the dishes. That should prove Sanjeev’s dedication to food. And it is only fitting that the national launch of his latest book Wrap N Roll should happen in Hyderbad.
The event which took place on Thursday evening at Landmark book store had Sanjeev Kapoor, his wife, as well as Harsha releasing the book. This latest release is “very relevant in today’s age” according to the author. “The recipes can be prepared fast, and are exciting and satisfying,” Sanjeev also adds that, “it is food that can be eaten on the go.” From vegetable papad rolls and mutton frankies to chicken wraps and ratatouille wraps, the book has recipes to suit every palate.
The release of the book was followed by an interaction between Sanjeev and the audience. The questions ranged from the very common “Who cooks at home?” the answer being the maid, though Sanjay cooks during the weekends. To Sanjeev’s favourite cuisine, wherever he goes in the world he likes to taste the local cuisine prepared at homes and not eat at restaurants.
A question regarding the cooking aids he uses on his show revealed that the unique utensils and cookware would soon be available to the public. This statement, caused excitement among the audience. The man who “breathes food 24/7” said that most of the recipes, titles etc were based on feedback from people who have tried out his recipes. He dedicated the book to all those people who want to prepare tasty, satisfying meals for their families. The event ended with audience members, getting their copies of the book autographed.
