Malls in Saket have plenty of options when it comes to food joints. But of the three, MGF Metropolitan could certainly do with more footfall. Chapter 25 debuted recently on the second floor there, and is quite impressive. A perfect modern-day café lounge with high ceilings and rustic wooden interiors, it will surely bring some life to the soulless mall. Another advantage of Chapter 25 is its spacious seating arrangement, which is a rarity these days due to high rentals.

The menu is extensive and has a mix of Mexican, Italian, American and Mediterranean delicacies. I started my meal with the piping hot chicken meatball soup, which was nicely seasoned and went well with the crunchy garlic toast. The crispy potato skins were executed well too. Potato skins, with their natural tanginess, gave the preparation a nice flavour.

Ouzeri, a mezze platter, was good too, with all the traditional dips, although the hummus had been whisked too much which affected its texture. Lamb kibbeh was majorly underdone as the outer layer of the kibbeh was uncooked, with only a crunchy dark brown coating from deep frying. Turkish import patlican kabab was full of flavours, as were the Moroccan mushrooms. I loved the mushrooms as they were perfectly marinated in harissa which gave them a balanced spiciness and blended well with the hummus.

Greek garlic chicken was again a dish to cherish, rubbed with aromatic spices. I was a bit early for dinner and the tandoor was not ready so I missed out on some of the Indian delicacies like Hyderabadi mutton seekh and Malabari fish tikka. I had a bite of their MELT burger but was disappointed with the quality of the bun and how it was assembled.

Their pizza impressed me though, and I loved every bite of it. The quattro pollo, with four types of chicken, is what will bring me back to Chapter 25 again and again. Equally good was their herb-gratinated fish — whole fish fillet cooked to perfection keeping the fish moist and flavourful.

I ended my main course with a tropical chicken; topped with bbq sauce and Caribbean juice, it had a nice flavour. It needed the chef’s intervention to make the chicken breasts tender. Dessert options were very limited but the There was only one option available for desserts in the form of a flourless fudge cake, but it was worth every bite.
