Little did Lisa know that her day would be different. As she entered the school bus, she found everyone silent.

She thought to herself “How could anyone be so silent on this special day?” She too followed suit and sat with her friends. She asked one of her friends “Why is everyone so quiet today? Is everything ok?”

Her friend replied, “Lisa, Miss Mary told us that the Principal would be announcing something very sad today!”

“What? A bad news on this day?” She asked again refusing to believe her ears.

And that’s when she understood why everyone was rather quiet. Lisa was worried as her plans for the day would then stand cancelled. The bus reached the school and all the children headed to their classes and came back to the ground to attend their morning prayer.

The much awaited moment came and the Principal came forward and said, “Children, from today on school will run full on Saturdays and Sundays and no one will be allowed to take off. Teachers have been asked to give extra homework to help you prepare for the exams”. The children were shocked and disappointed.

Lisa was so shocked that she went to the principal and said “Sir, please don’t do this. We won’t have a single holiday to rest.”

The principal then shouted, “Who is the principal you or me? You will be punished. I will give you T.C and and you will have to leave school forver”. Everyone was shocked at his words. How could he give such a big punishment for just a small thing? Lisa began to cry.

But, the Principal began to laugh. “Did everyone forget that its April 1 today! You have all been fooled. Everyone including Lisa heaved a sigh of relief then said, “The best April fool joke ever!”
