Lisa got into the bus and waved out to her mother. As the bus started, she smiled. She was excited. Soon her friend, Mona joined her.

“Is everything ready, Lisa?” She asked.

Lisa nodded. At school, inside the classroom the students were engrossed in a discussion. So were Meghna and Meenu. They felt that each year Lisa and Mona came up with the best plan for April Fools’ Day and managed to fool almost all of them. They decided to fool them this year instead. They informed the whole class and everyone was happy they would now fool Lisa and Mona. Meghna dragged a stool to the board and wrote something on it. Lisa and Mona had arrived at school. They were unaware of their classmates’ plans. Lisa pulled out a long cloth from her bag and hid Miss Rita’s cupboard behind it. Miss Rita was a fun-loving person and they were happy to play a trick on her. At 8:30 the bell rang and Miss Rita entered the class. She looked towards her cupboard and was shocked to find it was missing. She asked her students about it and they innocently replied that they knew nothing about it. Miss Rita rushed out of the class to enquire about it. Meanwhile, Lisa and Mona started to move it back to its own position. Unfortunately, they were not fast enough and Miss Rita caught them red-handed. When they told her that they had done it because it was April Fools’ Day, she asked them why they wanted do it when it was not April 1.

‘What?’ they exclaimed, and she told them “Look at the date.” They were shocked to see 31-3-2016 written on the board.

“But……” drawled Lisa, “Happy April Fools’ Day” said the class and Miss Rita, and then she continued “I knew you wanted to make a fool of me, but for a change I decided to join the class and make a fool of both of you.”

It had turned out to be a memorable day for Mona and Lisa.
