FOR:BUSINESS LINE   ATTN:NEWS EDITOR  14.06.2004      “Young Directors”: Eight children between the ages of 8 to 14 years from West Bengal discuss their story line during the Toonz India’s Children’z Animation Workshop, in Kolkata, the capital of the eastern India state of West Bengal. Children’z Animation Workshop is a unique venture of Toonz Animation India Pvt. Ltd. (based in Technopark in Trivandrum, Kerela) and in association with Toonz Webel Academy aimed at promoting animation among the young talents of the country. The animated films made by children at the workshop have gone to garner top honours at several prestigious film festivals around the world. These 8 winners selected from 1600 applicants will interact with veteran animation professionals, learn all about the art of animation and concurrently direct their own animated films based on their stories. They in turn will even lent their own voices for their films. The films will be ready to telecast on Children’s Day, 14th November 2004 and talks are being held to premiere these films as a part of International Film Festival Kolkata this year.
