Waiting for me

Carved from the wings of ravens

She shone like polished onyx

Chortling and gliding through the endless night

She entered into my dreamless sleep

Her auburn hair, graceful like the Niagra falls

And her skin, smooth and gilded

Like the kiss of sun’s loving rays

Her eyes like a shining mirror

But which broke as I looked

Shattered into a thousand pieces

Shattering my dream

But still, there she was.

Somewhere in the dark

Looking at me

As she shied away from the sun’s warmth

And hid behind the folds of dark

She waited.

And still waits for me.
