Waiting for Christmas

I will never forget the day I was in New York City and stood close to the tallest Christmas tree I have ever seen. I saw many huge gifts kept under the tree. Everyone was rushing to see Santa Claus sitting on a big red chair. My turn arrived and I went over to give Santa my wish list. He made me sit on his lap and he gave me a red and white striped candy. He also gave me a pearl set. I must have held it too tight because it broke and I started crying. “Don’t cry,” Santa said. I smiled and replied, “I love you, Santa,” and gave him a bear hug.

As I had wished, I got an iPod and a pair of shoes that I love. Now I am waiting for next Christmas.
