Waiting for a train

December 31, 2013 08:39 pm | Updated 08:42 pm IST

A railway platform is a busy and exciting place. Many trains arrive and leave every now and then, at all times of the day. All kinds of people come and go. It is a small world in itself.

Recently I had the chance to spend an hour at the Vizag railway station. I had gone there to receive my brother who was coming from Hyderabad by the Godavari Express. The train was scheduled to arrive at 6.00 a.m., but was late by an hour. During the wait, I saw many men women and children going on about their daily lives. It was crowded at that time also. Then there was an announcement about the arrival of the Godavari Express. In a few minutes, the train came and my wait was over.
