A march with a powerful message

The students took small, but firm steps towards making the earth green, while taking part in the “Environment Protection Week” organised recently in Tirupati by the Regional Science Centre (RSC) and the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB).

Activities

The week-long event comprised an open house quiz, painting contest, environment rally, essay-writing contest, environment drama contest, phone-in live radio environment quiz, story writing and popular lectures by eminent speakers on environmental issues.

All India Radio Station Director A. Malleswara Rao flagged off the rally.

Students of Sri Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru municipal high school, Brilliant High School, Viswam Talent School, Sri Kodandarama High School and S.V.High School took part. They held placards carrying messages on the need to avoid plastic and adopt eco-friendly initiatives.MCT Commissioner T. Prasad and RSC project coordinator R. Manikantan addressed the children.
