Jack and Freddie were good friends. Jack was helpful, but Freddie was selfish and mean. He didn’t like to help anyone.

Jack was a basket weaver. Freddie always used to tease Jack about his job. “Ha! Your job is to just make baskets, whereas my job in the field is far better than yours.” Jack didn’t mind.

Once, Freddie had to pay a huge amount to the bank and was about to lose his land. Jack offered to help him out. He was poor and did not have much money. But he wanted to help his friend. Jack went to some money lenders and borrowed money and gave it to Freddie.

One day, Jack had to go to the market to sell some baskets. But he was tied up with other work. He asked Freddie for help. But Freddie refused to help and sent him out. Jack felt sad.

After two days, Freddie fell terribly sick. He could not even walk. No one was ready to help him as he had been very mean to them.

But, poor Jack took him to the hospital. Freddie felt ashamed of himself for not helping his friend when he needed his help. He promised himself that he would help everyone from now on.
