On the occasion of India's 64th Independence Day, The Indian School celebrated the freedom of human spirit by exhibiting the achievements in Science, Maths and Social Sciences, by stds I to XII. The theme was The Silk Route, and the showcase was named "The World as a Global Village". Through exhibits ranging from charts, models and experiments to a solar car, the children lucidly and enthusiastically explained their creations to visitors. Padma Vibhushan Professor MGK Menon, renowned was the chief guest for the function.
From August 9 to 13, Goodley Public School celebrated the Freedom by organising various activities at different levels. Junior classes made bands, badges and painted T-Shirts on the theme of Common Wealth Games. The week-long commemoration culminated on August 13 with the grand celebrations starting from flag hoisting to other Cultural Programmes like ' Colours of CommonWealth Games' - and 'Unity in Diversity'. Four students were felicitated on this occasion by the Science Olympiad Foundation with certificate and cash prize of Rs.500 each for securing national level position.
Gyan Bharati School, Saket celebrated the 64th Independence day on August 12 and 13.. The primary department of Gyan Bharati School celebrated it with a lot of enthusiasm and patriotic fervour; the original version of 'Prabhat Pheris' was sung by the children of std IV and V. The central theme of the senior school function was 'Vande Mataram',the iconic war cry of the freedom movement.
International Day for World Indigenous People was celebrated on August 9 at the CSKM Public School, Satari, Chattarpur, in association with UNESCO. Students from stds VI to VIII participated in a drawing competition held at Central Library. The theme was "Original people of India" and more than 80 students had participated. The winners in the competition were Nisha Thapa,VIII (First); Kushal,VI (Second); and Alisha, VII (Third).
