BOA Tiny Tyros, the pre Kindergarten section of SBOA Public Senior Secondary School, South Chittoor, was inaugurated earlier this month. Thomas Augustine, correspondent of the school, was the chief guest. T.K. Latha, Principal, and Audrey Isaac were present.

Well before World Environment Day - June 5, a group of students from schools across Ernakulam district staged a dance-drama about preserving the environment, conceived and choreographed by Manoj Kumar and directed by Riyas Majeed. Titled Green Planet, it was the culmination of a two-month long dance and theatre camp organised by the One World Foundation for Performing Arts. Senior theatre person and head of the English Department at the Sacred Heart's College, Thevara, C.S. Francis, inaugurated the programme.

Pooja Vinod, a Grade IX student of Our Own English High School, Dubai, won the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for most distinguished student 2011-12. The award was presented by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, deputy ruler of Dubai and minister of finance. Pooja had won the award in 2007-08. She also won the Sharjah Award for Educational Excellence for the academic year2010-11.

St. Patrick's Academy, Manjapra, registered 100 per cent pass in the 2012 ICSE board exams. Fifteen of the 33 students who appeared for the exams registered A + while the rest secured high distinction.
