School notes from Puducherry

Dayanand Agarwal, Chairman and Managing Director, DRS Group, was the chief guest at the first annual day of the Edify School, Ranipet . He motivated the students and staff, and congratulated them for their brilliant efforts. G.V. Selvam, vice-president, VIT University, Chennai, was the guest of honour. Vinodh Gandhi, Director, GeeKay Education Trust, announced the inauguration of the residential facility and introduction of international affiliation for the school. R. Gandhi, chairman, GeeKay Education Trust, and Kamala Gandhi, were the special guests. Anit Arora, Principal, presented the school report. Santhosh Gandhi, Director, GeeKay Education Trust, welcomed the gathering. Prizes were distributed to the meritorious students. A delightful ballet on the theme, “Around The World” was presented. Merline Powell, event coordinator, proposed a vote of thanks.

Orange International Residential School OIRS), Arni, celebrated its third annual day. Capt. Raghunath K. Nair, Commanding Officer, INS Rajali, Arakkonam, was the chief guest. He congratulated the school chairman K. Sivakumar for having started an international school in a rural area. G. Usharani, Principal, Stansford International Higher Secondary School, Puducherry, was the guest of honour. Sivakumar welcomed the gathering and Abarna Sivakumar lit the lamp. Capt. Nair unveiled the OIRS magazine, “Harmony”. The students gave a cultural programme. Dr. Danny Anthony, Principal, OIRS proposed a vote of thanks.
