School notes from North India

Bluebells School International celebrated Earth Day recently. The Std X students visited their school farm and planted saplings and also worked in the garden. The school assembly was organised by the science and environment prefects of the school. It consisted of a ‘Nukkad Natak’ presented by students of Std X showing their concern over increasing rate of carbon emissions. This was composed by a song they had composed called “Save the World” and a power point presentation to generate awareness among the students.It was followed by competitions like folder and poster making (from waste materials), slogan writing, and poetry for Stds VI, VII, VIII and IX. Five best entries were selected and prizes were distributed. The day ended with students taking a pledge to save the planet earth.
The Shri Ram School DLF, Gurgaon, held its Junior ‘Shri Ram School Annual Inter-school Debate' recently. Adhiraj Mahajan and Shubankar Mukerjee of Std VIII from DPS R. K. Puram emerged the winners. Adhiraj Mahajan who won the rolling trophy for the school, was adjudged the second best speaker at the competition. This is the second time that the school has bagged the trophy.
