Students of Global Public School, Thiruvaniyoor, distributed sambharam to devotees coming to the Chottanikkara Temple. The devotees wished them good luck in all their endeavours. Some of them, including those coming from other States, donated money to the charitable work by the students. The initiative came as part of Young Indians' activities at the school. A few teachers too participated in the venture.

Teams from the Ernakulam Government Girls' Higher Secondary School and St. Antony's High School won the contest in the respective categories of the State-level patriotic song contest organised by the Ernakulam YMCA. St. Antony's School and St. Teresa's Convent Girls School won the second place in the event. The Government Girls Higher Secondary School won the national anthem contest too, with the St. Antony's team coming second. A team from Toc-H Public School won the event in the high-school category while the team from the Girls Higher Secondary School placed second.

Teams from St. Paul's International School, Kalamassery, won the junior and senior titles in the fourth All-Kerala CBSE School Basketball Tournament. The runners-up were Bhavan's Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara, (juniors) and Nava Nirman Public School (seniors).
