Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Public School, Jubilee Hills

St. Adams High School, Chikkadpally, organised a science fair. Themes for the exhibition ranged from environmental awareness to applied science. Issues of global warming and pollution were highlighted. Students of Stds. VIII and IX did models and circuits. The primary kids made models of respiratory, circulatory and nervous systems. The pre-primary students chose familiar places in the neighbourhood, such as post office, hospital and so on, for their models. They also explained to the visitors the role of the carpenter, mason and other vocations. An exhibition of stamps and coins was also held.

Little Scholar School celebrated its annual day recently and the highlight was a cultural festival. The school magazine Spectrum-2012 was released. The chief guest, M. Maheedhar Reddy, Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, congratulated the management for the completion of 20 years of the institution. AISSE school toppers and subject toppers of Std. X, meritorious students of the 2010-11 academic year and students who excelled in co-curricular activities were felicitated.

The primary sections of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Public School, Jubilee Hills, organised “Po10tial”, an open house and cultural event. Students from Stds. I to V presented dance recitals, qawwali and burrakatha. Tiny tots presented bhajans. A science exhibition was organised as part of the open house. Winners of various co-curricular activities were felicitated.

St Martin's High School, Chintal, had their annual day recently. The theme chosen was “festivals of Andhra Pradesh”. Children showcased festivities associated with Ugadi, Holi and other festivals as part of a presentation titled “Kaleidoscope”. Minister for Civil Supplies, Sridhar Babu, and former cricketer Venkatapathy Raju graced the occasion. Mr. Raju urged students to develop interest in sports along with studies.

A demonstration of Rajasthani tie and dye craft was organised by the primary wing of Sister Nivedita School, as part of the programme to bring about awareness among children on the rich and diverse art in the country. Experts demonstrated the ‘bandhni' work on fabric using vibrant colours.

Little Flower Group of Schools, Alwal, celebrated their graduation day -2012. The tiny tots of pre-primary group presented nursery rhymes and recitals on themes such as “Save our nature”, “salute to Freedom Fighters” and “Importance of exercise and games in daily life”. The school's annual report was presented by the headmistress, Sewli Roy, Alwal branch. The Chairman K. Sadanand addressed the gathering.
