Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School and PU College, Mysore Road, celebrated its Pratham Patotsav and the 6th annual day recently. The Patotsav, the first anniversary of installation of Lord Shree Swaminarayan, was a grand ceremony followed by parent-teacher meeting that focused on the academic as well as co-scholastic performance of students. Later, parents along with their children, thoroughly enjoyed kite flying organised as part of festival celebrations.
At the cultural programme, Premji Bhai Varsani, president, Saminarayan Temple, Tanzania, was the chief guest. School principal Rajesh Pillai presented the annual report.
Shri Sharadha Vidyaniketana, Arakere, celebrated the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda with pomp and show. The programme began with an invocation song by students of Std. VIII. The headmaster of the school spoke on the life of the great leader and his dreams for the nation. Students of Std.VII presented that depicted the rich cultural diversity of the country.
Students of Amara Jyothi English School, K. R. Puram, celebrated Sankranthi with great enthusiasm. The decoration with sugarcanes, flowers and the rice pot that typifies the festival were all there.
The tiny tots greeted everyone and spoke about the harvest festival. A dance was presented by the UKG students. Students of Std. VIII spoke about the significance of the festival and how it brings abundant joy to farmers. School principal Sai Kumari was present.
Jubilee School, Dooravaninagar, celebrated its 30th annual day “Harmony -12” recently. The theme was Indian folk dance. Students presented various dances from across the country. Madhavan Nair, former chairman of ISRO, was the chief guest and Jose P Verghese, founder vice chancellor of National Law University, Raipur, was the guest of honour. Blue House bagged the overall championship trophy. Muralidharan Nair, secretary of the institution, presented the annual report.
Kendriya Vidyalaya (DRDO), celebrated its 26th annual day recently. A. Subhanand Rao, chief controller (R&D), and director, GTRE, was the chief guest. School principal Shilbala Singh presented the annual report. The chief guest and the principal presented prizes to meritorious students and also felicitated a staff member, Radhakrishnan. O., who had received an award at the regional level. A cultural programme followed.
The aspiring astronauts of Ryan International School, Yelahanka, attended an interesting class on astronomy in the space club of the school recently. “Evening sky observation” was organised for the club members and parents.
After a theory session, the students along with their parents witnessed various celestial bodies including the Moon, Jupiter, and Venus through telescopes. School principal Indu Sannoo and coordinator Soma Pathak were present.
