Bishop Sargeant School, Tumkur celebrated Hindi Day recently. Sujatha, lecturer in Hindi, Government Pre-University College, Tumkur was the chief guest, and George Jayaprabu, presbyter, Sawday Memorial Church, Tumkur was the guest of honour. Students made speeches on the significance of the day and the entire programme had a flavour of the National Language. Kalpana Milton, vice principal of the school, Sheela Ratnakar, vice principal of Bishop Sargeant P.U College, were present.J ubilee School conducted its annual sports meet recently. Stalin. S., national basketball player and Ekalavya recipient, was the chief guest and he declared the sports meet open. He told the students to actively participate in sports. Blue House bagged the overall championship trophy. N ational Public School, Rajajinagar, held its 32{+n}{+d}annual sports meet recently. The day began with a colourful marchpast by the students in their respective house contingents. The various drills were a stunning display of talent and teamwork in co-ordination with foot tapping music – the students also displayed their proficiency in martial art. Politician D. K. Shivakumar gave away prizes to the winners. School principal Santhamma Gopalkrishna welcomed the gathering and introduced the guests. Bindu Hari, director, NPS Group spoke.

B harat Scouts and Guides, Yelahanka and MES Kishore Kendra Public School, Vidyaranaypura , conducted a camp recently. Sikha Ray Chaudhuri, principal, MESKKPS inaugurated the two-day camp where the participants learnt about yoga, craft, and first aid. A blood donation camp was also part of the event. In all 192 students from 12 schools participated.
