Saying goodbye

July 23, 2012 03:51 pm | Updated 03:51 pm IST

My first day in new school dawned. It was a rainy day. It was cool and there was no trace of the sun. My dad and I went to the school to find out about admission details. My heart was filled with fear at that time. I felt the absence of my old friends with whom I had studied for the past eight years. And I was in a new school in a totally new atmosphere with new people. It’s been four years since that day. But even now when I think back on that day I tremble. I now understand that States may vary, climate may change, languages may be different and even people may differ but friends and the feeling of friendship will always remain the same.
