Saving forests

February 26, 2015 05:01 pm | Updated 05:01 pm IST

Oh poor forests!

There once used to be a time,

When you were in your best health,

It was a nice time for you.

When your trees stood erect,

With green leaves.

There once used to be a time,

When the animals used to depend on you like your children,

And you were like a mother.

You gave them food and shelter,

You gave them life.

But alas now your children are in cages,

And some of them are already extinct and some are endangered,

Your greenery is completely lost,

And men are spoiling you now and then.

Oh poor forest, you are in tears,

I always have pity on you when I think about you,

But alas I am helpless,

May men realise your worth,

And take care of you.
