Students of S.B.O.A. Matriculation and Higher Secondary School, Coimbatore, got to know of the contribution of the late Congress leader and former Chief Minister K. Kamaraj, at the leader's 108th birth anniversary celebrations in the campus.
The school management celebrated the event as education development day.
The event
Gokulam, secretary, Vasantha Vasal Kavimandram, told the students about the Congress leader and his contribution to education, agriculture and commerce.
M. Arunachalam, resident correspondent, presided. He recalled the life and times of Kamaraj. V.V. Anand, Principal, and Geetha Gopinath, Vice Principal, also spoke on the occasion.
Students participated in a fancy dress competition in which they had to dress up like Kamaraj. Prizes were given. They also paid floral tributes to the freedom fighter.
R. Amudha and D. Prabha, teachers, briefed the students on the life of Kamaraj. The event ended with the national anthem.
