Putting it into motion

September 23, 2013 06:40 pm | Updated June 02, 2016 02:30 pm IST

We are free from the reigns of the British, but I see a child still in the clutches of poverty. Even as we ‘celebrate’ independence, the boy lives on helplessly. He’s not just selling these items at traffic signals. He has already sold his freedom and dreams. The sense of freedom and patriotism are not supposed to spring up simply on one day. It’s to be maintained in one’s mind lifelong. Even I am wasting time talking about it rather than doing something good for that child. But I am just as helpless as him. I’m unable to act and motivate.

We must quit talking and start doing if we wish to see a better India.
