And what a time we had! Holidays and fun times. Now it's back to school. Here's what some kids had to say...

The holidays are almost done and the fun and frolic over. It's time to brace yourselves for school. So are you sad or happy? Eager or anxious? All geared up or just lazing around?

Aditi, Std IV, DAV Senior Secondary School, Mogappair says she feels very sad when school re-opens. Aditi says, “Though I love seeing my friends I don't really like going back to school and the same routine that will follow. I will miss holiday as this is the time I get to do all that I want.”

However there are others like Shyamali, V, The School, KFI, who feel that going back to school is very exciting as a new class also means new friends.

“Making friends will also mean more games and more fun at the end of the day. I can't wait for school to open, she says”

Going to a new class can be exciting and scary. Exciting as you make new friends and scary as you wonder if you can get along with them.

Aravindan of Std VIII, Ramaswamy Mudaliar School, feels that though there is a fear of having to make new friends, he knows that with time classmates become friends. “While commuting or during lunch breaks we get to talk and interact and this is what I look forward to; break the ice.”

For most of the children getting back to school is connecting with friends. Arya, UKG, Kidzee says he is excited as he can go back to his school and play with friends again.

Along with excitement are a of questions that keep popping up as the countdown begins for the school to begin. Samyuktha of Std IX, Vidya Mandir says, “I'm eagerly waiting to meet old friends, I want to know who my new teachers are and where my class will be!”

Shreyas, II, Sishya, “I love summer holidays and don't want it to end.”

“I know I have to go back to school but I wish the holidays could be longer. I have travelled quite a bit this vacation and I really enjoyed myself,” Krithivasan, V, Sri Sankara Matriculation Senior Secondary School,

However, when it's time for school again it is an exciting prospect to look forward to.

Meeting old friends again and making new friends and also the prospect of learning new things is a thrilling thought.
