On a song

When my music teacher said that we were going to perform with the Chicago Choir, I was extremely excited.

We had the workshop at Goethe Institut. When the members of the choir arrived, they formed a semi-circle and sang a beautiful song for us following which we sang a prayer. We explained to them about raagam and rhythm and taught them a Bengali song written by Rabindranath Tagore. They also taught us an English song.

On January 31, we all were thrilled to sing with the Chicago Choir at Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Hall. First, we sang the Bengali song. Then the choir sang songs of different languages. At the end of the event, we sang the English song which we had learnt.

This was a wonderful experience and I am grateful for having been given the opportunity to sing with the Chicago Choir.
