It was neither the hill stations nor the lakes for me. Instead it was reading The Canterville Ghost and Lord of the Flies , and spending the evenings playing street cricket. I cycled with my friends, indulged in amateur photography, called up friends and relatives and made a nuisance of myself at home. All this added up to being a great summer for me and a far greater pleasure than those tourist places would have given!
