Ramadhan is a blessed month. At this time, I fast from 4:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. I eat sahar at four o'clock. After that I say the dua. Then I go to the Adyar mosque with my father and pray Fajr with jamaath. When I come back I sleep. At 7o'clock I have a bath and get ready for school. When the van comes to take me to school I feel hungry and thirsty. I shout “I feel hungry!” I am also thirsty when I run. In school I recite the Quran. I leave from school at 1:30pm. I go home and sleep. I get up at 5 o'clock. Sometimes I ride a cycle. I wait for my father to come from office. When Iftaar time comes, my father tells us to break the fast. We eat dates, kanji, juice, cake, bhajji, vadai, chocolate. After Iftaar I go with my father to the masjid to pray Maghrib salah. I come back from the masjid and my father and I read Quran. At 8 o'clock we go to the masjid and pray Isha. Afterwards we pray Tarawih in jamaath. I come back at 11 o'clock. During the last ten days of Ramadhan, my father stays in the mosque. I stay with him for five days. On Eid I wear a new dress. In the morning I eat purche roti with meat curry. I go for Eid prayers with my father. I meet my cousins and say “Assalamu Alaykum”. When I go back home I receive gifts of money. I visit my grand uncles. I eat lunch – biriyani with curd salad and beetroot halwa. Fasting is good.
