Thirty years ago, on June 25, 1983 an Indian team led by the legendary Kapil Dev overcame the mighty, two-time champion West Indies at Lord’s to win the Prudential World Cup. It was a fairy tale finish to a tournament where Indians had beaten all odds and favoured teams with consistently good and gritty individual and team performances.
