Unveiling of an aeroplane followed by a fashion show… No, this wasn’t some corporate event meant for the adults, but an event for the kids, specifically, for the winners of the Disney Channel’s Jet Set 2! contest.
Thirty winners and their families from across the country were gathered at the Jet Airways’ hangar in Mumbai to get a sneak peak of the plane that would take them to Hongkong Disneyland! And the plane indeed looked the part — adorned with pictures of Mickey, Pluto, Donald and other characters.
Celebration
After the plane, it was time for the winners and their claim to fame. They did so, fashionably sporting clothes designed by designers Shantanu and Nikhil. The catwalk was from aisles of the plane to the stage. They did this with finesse, flaunting their clothes and personality.
There was a surprise in store for them as they were joined by the cast of Disney Channel shows — “Best of Luck Nikki”, “The Suite Life of Karan and Kabir” and “Shake It Up”.
And the best surprise of all — Mickey and Donald joined them on the stage too, kicking up the enthusiasm of the adults in the crowd too!
Mehul Arora, a Std VI student from Patiala, Punjab, was elated to be one of the 30 chosen winners flying to Hong Kong. Though he missed by a narrow margin last year, he made sure to make it this year and he did. “This will be my first time to Hong Kong and Disney Land. I am looking forward to the rides and meeting Mickey!”
Meanwhile, Nikunj Patel, a Std IV student from Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, can’t wait to ride in the roller coaster. “My mom, dad and sister are coming with me on the trip,” he said excitedly about the trip. It was a Disney plane and 30 excited winners of the Disney Channel's Jet Set 2 were ready to fly to Hongkong.
